A face-to-face consultation will allow us to accurately assess your treatment areas, and of course this will be done with the upmost confidentiality and discretion.

Laser hair removal works by permanently reducing the growth of your hair follicles so that you may enjoy smoother and more hair-free skin. The pigments in the hair absorb the pulsed laser light and conduct it down to their roots, where they destroy the follicle and lessen its chances of growing back. A course of 6-8 treatments is generally recommended to secure your optimum results and treat all of the hair in the target area, as your hair growth occurs in cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does laser hair removal work?

Laser hair removal in Suffolk delivers concentrated bursts of light energy to the hairs in your treatment area. The pigment in your hair absorb this light and it travels through to the hair follicle root that is then heated to a temperature it cannot withstand. This destroys the active follicle and lessens its chances of producing another hair. Laser hair removal only works on actively growing hairs, so repeat treatments are necessary in order to treat all of the hairs in your treatment area during their growth cycle.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Rather than permanently removing the hair, there is a permanent reduction of growth. Some hair follicles in the treatment area may respond very well to treatment and never produce another hair again, but some may require top-up treatments once every 6 months to a year.

How many treatments will I need?

Your treatment journey will be determined by the colour, thickness, density, and growth cycle of your hair, so this will typically vary between clients. Typically, we would recommend a course of 6-8 treatments to ensure that we can treat all of the hairs in your target area while they are in their growth cycles.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

The technology we use, the Venus Velocity hair removal system, uses cooling technology to soothe your skin during your treatment to keep your discomfort to a minimum. You may feel some warmth during treatment or a sensation that has been likened to an elastic band being flicked against your skin, but this is merely a sign the treatment is working, and it shouldn’t be painful.

Can I shave or wax during my treatments?

We actually encourage you to shave your treatment area while you are on your treatment journey with us, because shaving the hairs a day or so before your treatment will ensure a large portion of them will be in their growth phase. Waxing is not recommended however, because waxing removes the hair follicle from the skin so that the laser light cannot treat it.
