Anti Wrinkle treatment in Suffolk

The treatment can be corrective or preventative and involves small amounts of Botox being injected into targeted muscles on the upper face to relax them. You should see visible results just a few days later, with peak results following after 2 weeks.

You can expect reduced forehead lines, frown lines, and crows feet. This smoother facial skin should make you look more rested and refreshed. Once the results begin to wear off, typically around 12 weeks, you can book your top-up treatment with our Newmarket aesthetic clinic to maintain your new, more youthful appearance.

The whole procedure should only take around 20 minutes at our Suffolk clinic. You’ll know what to expect before the Botox is administered as you’ll have had a face-to-face consultation with us beforehand. We will have discussed your suitability, exactly how an anti-wrinkle procedure works, and what it involves.

To be on the safe side, you can give yourself 24 hours afterwards to recover. However, realistically, apart from a little bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection site, we don’t expect you to have any side effects, or need any downtime.

You should notice the first visible effects of your anti-wrinkle injections approximately 2-3 days after the treatment, with maximum results in place 12-14 days later. Your new look should last for 3-4 months before a top-up treatment at our Newmarket aesthetic clinic is necessary to maintain your new look.

When the Botox is administered we use very small needles to ensure there is minimal discomfort during the treatment. The anti-wrinkle treatment will then be administered into the targeted muscles, you’ll have discussed with the practitioner beforehand.

Having been approved by the FDA for cosmetic procedures many years ago, anti-wrinkle injections are considered a very low-risk treatment. Botox has a very good safety record. Eyebrow droop is a more serious potential side effect, but it’s incredibly rare.

You’ll be given aftercare tips on the day to reduce swelling and bruising. Additionally, you’ll be advised to avoid extreme heat and rigorous exercise for up to 48 hours afterwards. If you need to book a follow-up appointment after 2 weeks, our skin clinic let you know.

treatment areas

Forehead lines

These are the lines that run horizontally across the forehead. Anti-wrinkle injections can smooth them over.

Frown lines

Frown lines run vertically between the eyebrows and up onto the forehead. Through anti-wrinkle treatments in Suffolk, they can be greatly reduced.

Crows feet

Also known as laughter lines, crow’s feet lie to the sides of the eyes. Anti-wrinkle injections can make the skin around the eyes appear smoother and less lined.

If you’re also concerned about skin laxity or overall skin quality, treatments such as Profhilo or polynucleotides may be recommended alongside anti-wrinkle injections.

FAQS ABOUT ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS

  • Most people can benefit from Botox anti-wrinkle injections as soon as the skin begins to lose its elasticity, and expression lines become more prominent on the face. As well as smoothing over existing facial lines, Botox can prevent more fine lines and wrinkles from appearing.

  • Nurse prescriber, Rebecca Taylor, is a qualified medical professional. She is trained and experienced in administering the prescription-only toxin used during the procedure. In her capable hands, this treatment is very safe. Don’t be tempted to bypass medical regulation for a cheaper product, as this will reflect in the results you achieve.

  • Botox is predominantly used on expression lines on the upper face, such as forehead lines, frown lines, and crows feet. In addition to that, it can correct a ‘gummy smile’; a smile that displays more gum than is attractive. It can also create the Nefertiti effect on the neck; making the neck look slimmer.

  • It’s possible you’ll experience bruising, redness, swelling, or even itchiness at the injection site. Headaches, dizziness, and fatigue may also occur. Serious side effects are very rare, and any mild effects usually subside after a couple of days.

  • You should notice a change in your appearance after just 2-3 days, but optimal results take a little longer. You can expect to look fully rejuvenated after 2 weeks. At this point, we’ll arrange a follow-up appointment to check you’re happy with the results.

  • You can expect the results of your anti-wrinkle treatment to last for 3-4 months. As soon as they begin to fade, you’ll be able to book a top-up appointment at our Suffolk clinic.

  • Many people use the term Botox® when referring to anti-wrinkle injections. Botox® is a brand of prescription botulinum toxin that may be prescribed following a consultation where clinically appropriate. At Rebecca Taylor Aesthetics, every treatment begins with a personalised assessment to determine the most suitable approach for your concerns.

  • Although both treatments help reduce the signs of ageing, they work in different ways. Anti-wrinkle injections relax the muscles responsible for expression lines such as forehead lines, crow’s feet and frown lines. Dermal fillers restore lost volume, enhance facial contours and soften deeper static lines. During your consultation, Rebecca will recommend the most appropriate treatment or combination of treatments for your individual goals.

  • Rebecca Taylor is a Registered Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber with advanced postgraduate qualifications in Cosmetic Medicine. Every treatment is carried out following a thorough consultation and tailored to your individual facial anatomy, ensuring natural-looking results that enhance rather than change your appearance.

  • The cost of anti-wrinkle injections varies depending on the number of treatment areas and your individual treatment plan. During your consultation, Rebecca will assess your concerns and recommend the most appropriate approach to achieve natural-looking results. You can view our current treatment prices on our Price List page or contact us for personalised advice.

  • It is generally recommended to avoid strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours after anti-wrinkle injections. Physical activity can increase blood flow, which may affect how the product settles and increase the risk of temporary swelling or bruising. Gentle daily activities are usually fine, and Rebecca will provide you with personalised aftercare advice following your treatment.

  • To reduce the risk of irritation or infection, it’s usually best to avoid applying makeup for at least 12 hours after treatment. Keeping the treated area clean allows the injection sites to settle naturally. Rebecca will explain your aftercare instructions in full before you leave the clinic, helping you achieve the best possible results.

  • For the first 24 hours after treatment, it’s generally recommended to avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, excessive heat such as saunas or steam rooms, and rubbing or massaging the treated areas. You should also remain upright for several hours after your appointment unless Rebecca advises otherwise. Following your personalised aftercare guidance can help achieve the best possible results.

  • As a precaution, anti-wrinkle injections are not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. There is limited research on the safety of these treatments during these stages, so Rebecca advises waiting until you have finished breastfeeding before considering treatment. If you have any questions about future treatment, we’re always happy to offer advice during a consultation.

  • If you decide to stop having anti-wrinkle injections, your muscles will gradually regain their normal movement as the effects wear off over several months. Your wrinkles will slowly return to their natural appearance, but treatment does not make wrinkles worse than they were before. Many patients choose maintenance treatments to help keep their results looking smooth and refreshed over time.

  • Yes. Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to help manage excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) by temporarily reducing the activity of the sweat glands in the treated area. Common treatment areas include the underarms, hands and feet. If excessive sweating is affecting your confidence or daily life, Rebecca can discuss whether this treatment is suitable for you during a consultation.

I enjoyed every minute of my visit. Rebecca is very professional and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions about various treatments with patience and friendly smile.”
