SKINVIVE™

For our skin to look its best, hydration is essential. Its surface, texture, elasticity, tone and glow (ability to reflect light) are all largely determined by its hydration. SKINVIVE™ is a hyaluronic acid treatment that can be injected into the dermis of the face, neck, décolletage, and hands. It can offer long-lasting hydration, improves skin smoothness, and visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines. Unlike topical creams that only work on the surface,12 SKINVIVE™ goes deeper, targeting the deep layers of your skin to deliver hydration3,‡ from the inside out. So, how does it work?

  • SKINVIVE™ attracts and retains water, using hyaluronic acid to increase your skin’s hydration.
  • SKINVIVE™ increases hydration where it’s needed, improving skin smoothness, skin tone (colour)** and the appearance of fine lines‡ after just one treatment.
  • SKINVIVE™ increases expression of a naturally occurring hydration marker deep in your skin over time, to offer long-lasting hydration for up to 9 months.

The whole procedure should only take around 45 minutes at our Suffolk clinic, this includes plenty of time for topical anaesthetic to be applied to reduce any discomfort. You’ll know what to expect before the treatment is administered as you’ll have had a face-to-face consultation with us beforehand. We will have discussed your suitability, exactly how a SKINVIVE™ procedure works, and what it involves.

For optimum results, we recommend having treatment to the area of concern, every 6-9 months.

To be on the safe side, you can give yourself 24 hours afterwards to recover. However, realistically, apart from a little bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection site, we don’t expect you to have any side effects, or need any downtime.

You should notice the first visible effects of your SKINVIVE™ approximately 2-3 weeks after the treatment. Your new look should last for 6-9 months before re-treatment is necessary to maintain your new look.

When the SKINVIVE™ is administered we use very small needles to ensure there is minimal discomfort during the treatment. The products itself also contains Lidocaine, a mild local anaesthetic. The treatment will then be administered into the targeted area, you’ll have discussed with the practitioner beforehand.

Having been approved by the FDA for cosmetic procedures many years ago, SKINVIVE™ is considered to be a very low risk treatment. It has a very good safety record. Bruising is the most commonly reported side-effect.

You’ll be given aftercare tips on the day to reduce swelling and bruising. Please avoid the application of make-up for 12 hours after treatment. Also avoid rubbing or massaging your face for 6 hours after treatment. Additionally avoid extreme heat and rigorous exercise for up to 48 hours afterwards. Treatments such as laser, micro needling or peels should be avoided 2-4 weeks post treatment.

FAQS ABOUT SKINVIVE™

  • Most people can benefit from SKINVIVE™ as it adds hydration and luminosity to the skin. Additionally, SKINVIVE™  improves pinch tone of the skin, helping it feel plump and more youthful.

  • Nurse prescriber, Rebecca Taylor, is a qualified medical professional. She is trained and very experienced in administering injectable treatments. In her capable hands, this treatment is very safe. Don’t be tempted to bypass medical regulation for a cheaper product, as this will reflect in the results you achieve.

  • SKINVIVE™ can be used to treat the lower face, peri-oral area, neck, décolletage and hands.

  • It’s possible you’ll experience bruising, redness, swelling, or even itchiness at the injection site. Serious side effects are very rare, and any mild effects usually subside after a couple of days.

  • You should start to notice a change in your appearance within weeks of the treatment, however full results are usually apparent 4 weeks after your treatment.

  • SKINVIVE™ treatment usually requires 1 session. This should last for 6-9 months. We then recommend repeating the treatment. Other areas can be added in the mean time if desired.
