Dermal filler treatment

Dermal filler injections restore lost skin volume to provide a natural-looking rejuvenation. Our skin tends to lose elasticity as we get older. This is due to our collagen levels decreasing. Lifestyle factors like diet, smoking, and too much sunshine, can all contribute to accelerating the skin ageing process.

So how does it work? Hyaluronic acid is the key ingredient in dermal fillers. It binds to water under the skin providing a cushioning effect to make the skin look more youthfully plump in areas where it was thinning previously. It can be used to resculpt key features such as drooping noses, thinning lips, sallow cheeks, and sagging jaw lines, as well as smooth over prominent facial lines on the mid and lower face.

Your treatment will take just 30–40 minutes at our Suffolk clinic to complete. The dermal filler will be injected into targeted areas of the face, with visible results straight away.

You may need up to 48 hours of downtime following filler treatment. This is simply to get over any mild side effects, and give your fillers a chance to settle.

Depending on where on your face fillers have been applied, you can expect the results of your treatment to last for 6–12 months. You won’t need to wait for the results either, as they should be visible immediately.

When you have facial contouring treatment, hyaluronic acid gels, known as dermal fillers, will be injected under the skin. The result is increased skin volume in age-depleted, collagen-weak areas of the face, giving you a more youthful look.

There may be some bruising and swelling at the injection site, as well as temporary discomfort. This should all subside very quickly. Allergic reactions are highly unlikely given that hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in the body. Although very rare there are risk of more serious complications which will be discussed during your consultation.

We’ll provide detailed after-care information when you come and visit us. The advice we give will be with the goal of you achieving optimal results, while retaining your full health.

treatment areas

Facial lines

The lines that run from the nose to the corners of your lips (nasolabial), along with the lines that run from your lips to your chin (marionette), can be smoothed over to achieve a more youthful look.

Eye fillers

The dark circles under the eyes that become more pronounced as we age can be plumped up with dermal fillers to make you look less tired and a few years younger.

Cheek fillers

Lost skin volume around the cheeks can be replaced with fillers to give your mid-face a refreshed texture and shape. This type of facial contouring results in a more youthful appearance.

FAQS ABOUT FACIAL CONTOURING AND REJUVENATION

  • Dermal fillers can provide a number of different rejuvenation treatments. They can smooth over prominent lines on the lower face, and reshape your chin and neck to give you a younger-looking profile. Additionally, they can replace lost volume in the lips, eye troughs, and cheeks. If you’re looking for a non-invasive facelift, to restore or enhance the shape of your nose, chin, lips, or cheeks, or you simply want a subtle rejuvenation, facial contouring treatment, offered at our Newmarket aesthetic clinic, can help.

  • When administered by an experienced and qualified nurse subscriber, like Rebecca Taylor, dermal filler treatment is extremely safe. Hyaluronic acid, the substance in filler is a substance that occurs naturally in the body. Therefore the chances of your skin rejecting it are unlikely. It’s worth noting that this cosmetic treatment has an excellent safety record.

  • The results should be visible immediately following treatment, although you may need to wait 3–5 days for any minor side-effects to subside.

  • The results of dermal fillers can last for between 6 and 12 months. When the results of your treatment begin to fade, you can book a top-up treatment at our Newmarket aesthetic clinic to restore your new look.

  • You shouldn’t feel pain during the procedure because Rebecca will apply an anaesthetic cream beforehand. The sensation has been likened by some clients to a pinch, but nothing more extreme than that.

  • Dermal filler treatment is not permanent. Over time, the body will break down the additional hyaluronic acid that has been injected into you, just as it breaks down the body’s natural reserves of the substance. However, you won’t need to book another treatment until the results of your initial injections have begun to fade.

“Rebecca and her team were fantastic! This was my first time having any aesthetic treatment and I was so worried when I went in but within minutes they had made me feel at ease and I am super happy with the results. Thanks Rebecca.”
